Back To Bargains

For anyone that checks my blog regularly or is subscribed to my email list, you’ll have noticed that I haven’t posted anything new in almost two weeks – that’s quite some time! And for the super eagle-eyed, you will have also seen that I’ve been posting less over the past month or so.

It’s not been intentional and I’m still bargain hunting, but I’ve recently been knocked out of my usual routine by my heath condition. I wont go into great detail because that’s not the topic of my site but as part of my illness I suffer with what I can only describe as super chronic fatigue. I’m always in pain and tired, but over the past few months I feel like I’ve been trampled by elephants and dragged backwards to Timbuktu all while feeling like I’ve got a massive hangover. So with that and just about managing to go into my ‘day job’, I normally flake out on the couch when I get in most evenings and play catch-up on my days off to feel a little more normal.

I’m actually off sick from work today due to something else, so I’ve had no choice but to stay in bed all day and this has been a blessing in disguise! I feel a lot more rested so I thought I’d take this opportunity to get back into blogging. Saying that though, I seem to be pretty over-emotional today. I dreamt that someone took the credit for the lasagne I made yesterday and served it as their own – that was enough to push me over the edge this morning. Thankfully it’s actually still in my fridge, untouched, unharmed!!

Here’s a few things from the past two weeks that I wanted to show you all.

Tesco and Zeo have teamed up and sent me this voucher for a free bottle of their Cloudy Lemon drink. I really like the post card they sent with the hand-written note. It’s quite fitting for how I’ve been feeling recently. I’ve never heard of Zeo before, but I think I’ll be buying this again in the future as I really loved the taste.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned CheckoutSmart on my blog yet, but I used the cashback app to pick up these Richmond sausages for free. I actually really like the idea of this pack where they’re already in a foil tray – it meant one less thing to wash up after dinner!

These ‘perfectly imperfect’ apples from Tesco were one of my favorite buys last week. I’m not a massive fruit eater and would never finish a whole regular-sized apple, so when I saw these I thought they were perfect. I paid 60p for this bag and there were 11 apples inside! I think they are new to my store and at such great value, I hope they are a permanent product. Side note –  I couldn’t actually find anything imperfect about any of the apples!

One other thing that I’ve been enjoying is comments from my readers! I’ve had a few lovely ones recently, so even though I’ve not been able to post much, it’s been so nice knowing that my blog is still being read and enjoyed by people.

I think I’m going to leave it there for today’s post, thank you for reading and happy bargain hunting!
